Autumn/winter dresses take a feminine turn.

For night.. party dresses have plenty of 1980's glamour and sparkle. Look for ruching, ruffles, sequins and frills. Think big shoulders and a dash of leg.

Tailored pants make way for looser cuts and more fluid fabrics this winter.

Lace up style shoes and booties work back perfectly with man style pleated pants.

Genie pants are the new season's take on harem pants. Tuck them into boots if you are looking to make a bold fashion statement or team them up with the latest platform stilettos for a lighter look.

Wear draped pants in silk or satin worn with statement heels for night.

Crisp tailored shirts make way for soft billowy blouses, luxe sweaters and sexy sheer tops.

Ankle boots, tall boots and above the knee boots will be in huge demand this winter.

Platform, wedged and heeled boots extend the legs visually so they're bound to be popular.

And remember boots are not just for winter. Boots look hot with above the knee skirts and shorts worn with short sleeved tops and light jackets.

Buckle details on boots will be everywhere but generally details will be minimal. Neutrals are the colour of choice and the suede look is spot on.

This season handbags tend to be oversized and hand held rather than over the shoulder.

Shoes

Shoe trends for Autumn-Winter 2010 are much more 'practical' than last year

Easy-to-wear styles and timeless footwear come into their own. Simplicity and style are key.

The Autumn-Winter colour palette tends to be dark with the exception of neutral skin, grey, taupe, berry and nude tones.

Detailing is kept to a minimum in keeping with the move towards simplicity.

Suede and reptile print add interest and texture.

And when it comes to heels, the higher the better.

Skirts

Mini skirts are very much in vogue this winter but they are soft and textured, not so body hugging. Team them up with stiletto pumps, a blousey top and new season oversized jacket, coat or knit.

Or if you prefer, maxi skirts that finish around the ankles are flattering, add glamour and are on-trend. Wear with heels for night and flats for day.
